Day of the Covenant

The Day of the Covenant is a Bahá’í Holy Day that commemorates the unique role of Abdu’l-Bahá as the Center of Bahá’u’lláh’s Covenant. While Bahá’u’lláh appointed Abdu’l-Bahá to guide the Bahá’í community and preserve the unity of the Faith after His passing, `Abdu’l-Bahá Himself requested that no day be set aside to honor His birth. Instead, He designated this day—set near His birthday on the Gregorian calendar—as an occasion for the believers to gather, reflect, and strengthen the bonds of unity.

This day is a celebration of the spirit of harmony and togetherness that `Abdu’l-Bahá embodied so perfectly. His life stands as a radiant example of service to humanity—characterized by compassion, humility, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to the principles of justice and love.

Bahá’ís observe the Day of the Covenant with community gatherings that include prayers, readings, and fellowship. All are warmly welcomed to join in this observance, to learn, to reflect, and to share in a spirit of friendship and unity.
